TIP: Buttons you assign as DPI Up, DPI Down and DPI Cycle will enable you to change between DPI levels rapidly. The mouse will revert back to the current DPI level when the button is released. This enables extreme precision or mouse speed when needed. To set the Shift DPI, select a DPI level that isn't highlighted in orange, and then click Assign Shift. This is the DPI level the mouse will return to when you:Īssign Shift - (Optional) A Shift DPI is a DPI level you can temporarily activate by pressing the DPI Shift button. To change the default, click a DPI level that doesn't have a blue diamond above it, and then click Assign Default. For example, if you type in "632", the software will round to 640 DPI.Īssign Default - (Required) One DPI level must always be the default. For each DPI level you set, you'll see a tick mark rounded to the nearest 80. NOTE: If you prefer, you can edit the list of DPI values to the left of the graph from 240-4000. For each DPI level you set, you'll see a tick mark. Under DPI Sensitivity Levels, drag the tick mark along the graph. Make sure the blue marker next to the icon is to the right. Start > All Programs > Logitech > Logitech Gaming SoftwareĬlick the glowing pointer - gear icon. Acceleration - Enhance pointer precision.Per profile pointer settings - Enable different pointer behavior for each profile.Report rate - Update from 125/sec (8ms response time) to 1000/sec (1ms response time).DPI levels - Configure up to five levels, from 240-4000 in 80 DPI increments. The G402 gaming mouse supports these pointer customizations in Automatic Game Detection mode: NOTE: For help with choosing between these two modes, see answer 360023260794. TL:DR - The below is a small guide for DPI settings in the Logi Options+ ( Plus ) software for Logitech MX Master 3 (not S).The G402 gaming mouse lets you customize pointer settings in two different modes: Might apply for other mice using that software that are capped at 4000DPI max. I have a Logitech G Pro and an MX Master 3 from recently. I also use 800dpi and from rough measurement. The "Pointer speed" in my logitech options+ software needs to be set at about 45% to be just about 800dpi. Seems that 50% is 1000DPI as the default and then it scales based on that, so it definitely isn't linear dpi-wise, but it increases/decreases exponentially. (Note, after further testing, 800DPI is 43%)Ī very quick calculation shows that every 5% of Pointer Speed in the software equates to 14.86984% (brute-forced number, roughly) more/less DPI than the previous speed and the middle point is 1000dpi/50pointer speed. After a bit of further testing, every percentage of Pointer Speed is about 2.8121% faster/slower than its previous percentage. So if you take 1000 and then start multiplying it by 1.1486984 or 0.8513016, you get the 5% increments in the Logi Options+ software. Please note that there is most probably a fairly easy function that can be calculated for this but I am not smart enough to figure that out.īelow are the DPI values in 5% increments. If you'd like a more precise DPI setting, get the closest setting from below, if yours is higher than the closest, add 2.8121% to the DPI number and if it is still higher, add another 2.8121% to the new DPI number that you got and so on. If its lower than the closest setting from below, just subtract 2.8121% instead of add. Please note that DPI differences of less than 50 are very hard/impossible to notice. I have a logitech MX Master 3S and im just posting this in multiple places because i think this logitech mouse line REQUIRING SOFTWARE on each PC is garbage and misleading. It requires software installed on every machine! TLDR: you CANNOT SAVE DPI SETTINGS TO A LOGITECH MX MASTER 3S MOUSE (and similar). Sure, ill barely accept that you can change the DPI in software once and that this mouse shockingly lacks dpi changing buttons BUT as far as i can tell you're required to do this mouse DPI change in the logitech software on every single machine as the settings DONT SAVE TO THE MOUSE like their gaming line of mice and GHUB software. Logi Options+ software is a pile of garbage and this mouse being $100+ requiring software is a disaster.
